best semi auto shotgun for self defense, what is your opinion

I agree on the Benelli M4s90, although to be honest with our laws I'd prefer a 20" Mossberg M590A1 due to the extra ammo capacity.
8+1 in the pump just seems like a better option than 5+1+1 with ghost loading.

You have my vote! Mossberg 590 a1....ammo capacity! built like a tank! and not too expensif... (600$ average)

23 min. would be on a good day in an Urban environment.......for many rural areas at night , it could be a 2 hours plus wait for the police , if not longer.....

I'll toss in a vote for my 21" Benelli M2 Field w/Extension, 6 + 1 + 1 (2-3/4"). Although I am starting to suspect it's all about what we have access to and not really "the best."

x2 on the 930, I like mine and 100% reliable so far.

Having said that, the OP asked for semi auto choices, but I still like the 590A1 a bit better overall.
