Best Shotgun for three gun

If my barrel says 2 and 3/4 AND 3" that pretty much means I can only have 5 of any kind, right?

If so then I don't need to monkey around with my plug.

Everything I've ever read said that you can load five of the longest shell your gun is chambered for. So in my case and yours, that means five x 3 inchers or six x 2.75. So 6 x 2.75 takes 16.5 inches of magazine and that will not take 6 x 3.00. I don't have the original text at my fingertips right now but check it out for yourself. People that have guns with 3.5 chambers load 7 x 2.75 legally.

Run you SBE II with a Tacstar Extension. 9 3/8"

JB weld the notch in the bolt.

Then you can legally have 7 ,2 3/4's in the magazine, float one and pipe one. = 9. You can't do that with an M2.

I hope that is true for one annoying reason. When I twin load if there is only 5 in the mag. It's an odd number!

A ten second mod to the m2 bolt and you can float one on the lifter too.
So... It's 6 in the tube one on the lifter one in the chamber...

Here is one idea. My best friend has a Franchi semi auto 12. The magazine cap is the same thread as the Benelli Nova pump. Tac Star makes a 2 shot extension for the Nova. That extension is only sold as and packaged/marked for the Nova. Other makes of mag extensions for the Nova are listed to also fit a Beretta semi, but not the one from Tac Star. With the logic of how the 10rd LAR pistol fitting in semi auto rifles being legal, I think this Tac Star mag extension would be legal on the Franchi semi. Thoughts?

So back the the question. Where does one get a plus 3 extension for an m2?

Found this on the Brownells website. Nordic mag tube extension, +3 for M2:

You know what to do with the link. Hope this helps you out.

I just was saying use the SBEII because he already has one.

That's nice but how many people can afford that?

Lots. The better question is will the purchaser get any measurable advantage out of that over a regular 26" M2 or a VersaMax, or any other decent semi for $1k or more less?

I've looked at that M2 3 Gun before. I can afford it and would love to have it, but it just doesn't win the cost/benefit analysis for me at this time.

From everything I've seen, read or heard I would give the Benelli a slight advantage in terms of certain parts being more durable. However my fully race prepared (by a top builder) Versa Max Tactical came in decidedly less than $2k. Even if and I say IF I have to replace a few pins or similar small parts I will still be $500 ahead. I think most of the service complaints with the VM come from shooters who really ride those guns hard on a regular basis. Most of us will never come close to that sort of volume and hard use. I've never cut myself short on firearms for a money issue but I would have to give that model of Benelli a sideways look. If you are sold on Benelli to the exclusion of others, buy a standard model and get it worked up by one of an increasing number of shotgun gurus.

That is a bit spendy... You can easily and inexpensively pimp a standard M2 to make it pretty damn good or at least pretty damn good enough for serious competition.
A $2800 shotgun really needs to be deployed by a top tier shooter in order to reach it's max potential.

To digress... $2800 for a shotgun pales in comparison to what active participation in the world of 3-gun costs....
Factor in hotels, entry fees, ammo... you could buy a few of those shotguns in a year
