Best Shotgun for Zombie defence?

Are AA12s legal for civilians if only semi? In the US? In Canada?

I'm pretty sure that the AA12 is prohib in Canada (doesn't appear on the list but would most likely be a variant of the USAS-12 which is prohib by name along with any modified version or variant) and in the US I believe it was clasiffied as a destructive device as it has no sporting purpose (could be wrong on that though).

Shotguns SHOULDN'T be used against zombies. Ammo is too cumbersome, and the shot radius isn't wide enough to be effectively used against multiple zombies. A few pellets from a shotgun shell may not cause enough damage to incapacitate one anyways. Your better off using a pistol, or civilian SMG with sawed off barrel chambered in 9mm for close quarters. (I say civilian because full auto is a waste of ammo. I say 9mm because it has MORE than enough penetration to go through the human skull, and I don't know if I'd trust a .22), or a .223 for long range. It's an accurate and light round. Shotgun Shells are unnecessarily bulky, and over kill. Just like anything bigger than an assault rifle round, or any calibre higher than 7.62.

But since this is about shotguns... I'd go with a Taurus Judge, chambered in .410. If that doesn't count... I'd prefer a semi auto AA12. Mag fed would be faster to reload then using a tubular magazine I figure. Perhaps you could create some ULTRA HUGE stripper clips as well lol but I trust a shotgun would be used as a last ditch effort if anything... I enjoy talking about zombie invasion. It's fun :p

Shotguns are great and all but would you really want to be shooting it constantly in a continuing zombie onslaught?

We've all shot shotguns and they can be very fatiguing. You wouldn't want to be shooting it continuously. Ammo is big and heavy. This firearm should only be used in a close range situation and a small caliber semi-auto rifle used for your main defense. Greater accuracy, you can carry much more ammunition for the same weight. .223/5.56 is my choice, ammo is readily available and you could easily resupply from our forces.

That being said. I still have my 870 with 14" dlask barrel for close encounters. :)

LMAO!!! ohhh god that little video under your post is classic!

.22 and any 7.62x39 rifle for the zombies but id use the shotgun against humans trying to take my #### or spazing and endangering the rest of the group. They are intimidating against humans Zombies don't care.

I don't know if a canon would be the best plan. According to the zombie survival guide, things like full auto machine guns and oldschool canons are a bad idea because you can't be sure you'd kill the brain specifically. So mowing down a giant herd with a grape shot or machine gun could possibly just crate a pit of still "undead" heads and mangled torso's still able to bite and infect.

Lol but if they're the "disease zombies" a-la zombieland, then canons away haha
