best shottie for under 1000?

For me it has to be the Browning BPS pump. Fit and finish are flawless and beautiful, as nice as the high end Weatherby products.. Hulls are ejected out the bottom of the weapons action. Safety is where it should be just behind the tang on top. Action is very smooth and the weapon tracks beautifully when you throw it up. I have their 410 offering and I love it.

Under $1000? Wow, makes available all the pumps... Fabarm, Valtro, Benelli... all the coolest pumps. For semi's you still don't get into the Fabarm, Benelli, etc.

What were you looking for again?
