Best sights for a G17 3rd Gen

I have installed the TRU GLOW ones on both my glocks.
I really like them and can pick up the target fast.

A Tru Glow, or other highly visible front sight (tritium or fibre optic) and a plain black wide notch rear (Warren, Sevigny etc). The reasoning is that the bright front sight attracts your eye, while the plain black rear sight doesn't fight for your focus. The wide notch lets you pick up the front sight quickly for faster shots up close, but still allows you to be precise for distance shots requiring more accuracy.

I prefer night sights over anything, and my favorite are heinies.... but frankly the trijicons are whats available and my next set I order will be the HD series...

I HATE fiber optic... in my experience unless you have the time and can find spare fibre optic inserts I find the fiber optic sights less then optimal.. have had them on several gun and always seems to loose the pipe OFTEN shooting *DPA and taking Tactical Courses.

simple is better and I want my sights to stay attached...

Whats the best sights for a 3rd Gen Glock 17? Im a newbie so simple accurate target aquisitionis what id like to keep in mind. Thanks!

Just an FYI, the make, model, and generation have nothing to do with what sights are effective. Aside from that, its personal preference. I'm partial to night sights as well, steel construction and visible in all light conditions.

May I ask, what don't you like about the factory sights?

If you're referring to the factory "cup and bowl" style there are several issues. The bowl is not overly precise as the base of the bowl doesn't start at the white line. There is some material around the line which makes keeping the ball low in the bowl a pain. they're not tritium so they're no good for night work, and they're plastic and can be ripped/snagged off the gun.

I'm running ameriglo hack sights right now on one of my glocks and have found them to be excellent thus far. The rest of my glocks all wear warren/sevigny fiber optic sights, both are easily attained through Brownells.
