Best Sights for an 8.5" grizzly

As the title suggests, does anyone have any recommendations for an iron sight system for a 8.5" barrel grizzly? The bead it comes with is way too low...

Add an XS Big Dot maybe? Or upgrade to ghost rings?

If an xs big dot doesn’t work, I’d go with a receiver mounted rail and a red dot or reflex sight of some sort.

i have seen sights mounted on short barrel shotguns in the states. they were basically a tube about 2 inches long mounted up front with no rear sight. suppose to be the answer but i have no experience using them. you could experiment by taping one on and if it works a permanent mount could be made.

I use a clip on. And have learned shot placement ... They are ment for close up work ,not really ment for sporting /hunting. Fun gun if you use it as such ( blasting rang toy or back woods carrying ) still loving mine !

I have a rail for mine and a TRS25 which works great without any issues. My receiver was already tapped and came with the rail in the box.

Jeez, I'm pretty proud to be hitting 8x10" contrast targets with (1oz target slugs) with my 14" Defender (@25 yards). Open sights, aka , a front site post only.

Are you saying I could be hitting (reliably) further?

I have a cheapo amazon ca Dovetail to picatinny adapter, but only mounted my holosun 510c for fun, never shot with it. I think shotguns were designed for open sights.... , that and the AR would be get jealous... Maybe I outta grab a TRS25, or TRS-26, and see what my cheapo Turkish 12ga is capable of , with its 14" barrel and beautiful wood stock.

That's what they look like. Yes I have found I hit better at distance as well once they were installed.

Get a rail fitted and a large dot size, like a 6 MOA dot. I'm not aware of any irons that are properly sized to give decent POA/POI for an 8 1/2 inch tube.

Op, if your grizzly came with the receiver drilled and tapped from the factory you can buy a rail for it from Canam, they sell a low and high version.

I found even using the Canada Ammo rail as a gutter sight works well enough for shot.

Yeah I found the same with my 12.5” barrel, when I lined up the tall front sight with the top it the rail it put the dot in the center and my poa/poi was dead on at 15-25y. You need the tall front sight base and not the bead sight though, iirc it was the low rail I bought.

I put the same ones on my 8.5” magfed but I picked up a Dlask 8.5 and want to use the same sights.
I purchased 2 sets cross border and need another set. Where did you purchase yours from as I don’t want to buy from the States anymore

Wilson Combat offers different height front sights.

They make a set for a 12.5” barrel which should be closer than a set made for 18.5” barrels.
