I'm looking for a new sling setup and figure you guys might have some suggestions.

I've been try a few two point setups but due to my flashlight mount I'll need to setup a single point sling.

The gun won't often be carried this way since I use either my modified Eberlestock gunrunner or Kifaru pack with gunslinger most of the time.

I've got a QD plate between the receiver and stock, for a 14" 870 what single point sling would you recommend?

Thanks.

This would be my choice, or I’d buy the magpul qd adaptors and pair it with a Vickers sling making the same set up. Quick to switch from 1 to 2 point setup, adjust length on the fly with a slider and no bungee. I have both the magpul and Vickers slings, I prefer the Vickers as it’s made of a coarser webbing but they both work well and are well made slings.

Thanks I'll check that out.

BFG 221 sling. QD mounts quickly convert from 2 point to single. Great piece of gear.

I've got a Vickers and had built my own 2 to 1 with it and tried running it as a single point but it wasn't idea for me at least.

I tried to do the same with my Ferro Concepts sling too.

I wasn't really happy with either when made into a single point. They're both awesome two point slings though.

Trying twice to modify a two point and not being happy with the result is why I'm now looking for a true purpose built single point.

Fair enough, I get more use out of a 2pt like the Vickers but when I need to hang it vertically in front the 1pt configuration seems to do the trick. I can see it not working 100% if you need a dedicated 1pt set up, the magpul adaptor is the closest you’d get to having both in one I figure.

I agree with your assessment. I do prefer multi purpose and use items but so far I've been unimpressed with the 2-to-1 options.

The Magpul one does look most promising though. I do like the idea of the BFG UDC too.

As I said I don’t use a 1pt sling often but I made one up from an old dog harness we don’t use anymore, it’s ghetto I know but it works well and is strong. It adjust on both sides of the metal plate up at the top and I pulled a leather buckle off a chicom ak/sks sling and added a D ring off the discarded harness, it attaches to the sling mount on my 12g. The carabiner attaches quick, the only thing is it’s not adjustable on the fly. I dislike the bungee on single point slings so this works for me, once it’s adjusted to length it slips over my shoulder and the gun hangs where I want it. When I pull it up to my eyes it fits right into my shoulder pocket.

DIY ghetto fabulous I know but it was free, we should start up the poor mans tacticool thread again lol. If you have access to a sewing machine, making one out of webbing strap and slider parts would be easy. Places like MEC sell all the webbing and sliders or buckles, #### mec but you should b able to find it any where that sells climbing rope or go buy a long dog leash. You too can be ghetto fabulous haha.

I believe Bartons has a BFG single point instock and I know they carry a few Magpul slings. Its been a while since I played with a magpul but I found they worked well when converted to single point.

Yes my uncle mike slings are the best out there. I have made millions off of my slings cuz they r the bomb. Lol... anyhow I also have a police 870 14” ported shotgun. Mines from the early 90’s and needs a sling too

Check out RedWire gear CS sling.

I prefer it to the Vickers. Light & simple.

I run it as a 2 point but it's designed with a built in metal D-ring for converting to single point depends on attachment type used of course.
