I went from a ### tactical mall ninja SKS to this... And let me tell you its well worth going back... I can hit my target now... LOL ....

Forking out the Extra 25$ for a handpick was well worth it... :D

This is the best SKS setup ever ( FOR ME ) ;) ( I also have the Tech sights on my 10/22 )

As soon as I get my .041 insert I will post my 100M groupings... ( im at just under 2 inch right now) I was at 4 inch with my ### mall ninja SKS...

looks good, I had an ATI sythentic on mine and it would shoot all over no matter what I did.

Swapped the old Chinese wood back on that it came with, now it's way better. IMHO a 40-50 year old rifle should stay wood.

Not only wood but fiberglass NAM stocks are quite good too.
I believe that the lack of a cross bolt has something to do with it loosing it's consistency of repeatability.

What did your ### ninja rifle look like Diligaf?

I like that set up. It's about as modified as it should be, and yes, wood is the best!

But the ammount of money I dumped in it is the real kick in the balls... If I would of known all I needed was 80$ for sights I would of saved myself alot of trouble...

Like I said ###... lol... to bad I cant find the pics with the 5/40 round mags in it... Looked even better .. .lol ...

Holy crap - that IS the ###est mall ninja SKS I've ever seen! At least you've come around and have seen the error of your ways.

It's like a car wreck - I can't stop looking at it... the horror.... the horror... seriously, that is BAAAAD. :)

Every time I see an SKS like that, it makes me wonder if new shooters messed up M1s and other CARBINES with all kinds of dumb add ons when they were cheap surplus after the war. I'd love to see some 50's and 60's era tacticlols.

I don't think they tacticooled anything after the war, their way of mods was sporterizing them......same principal, lighter easy to handle for their application, hunting, today its mall defense. lol

Elegant! Not a word I'd use for an SKS, but there, I said it! Great job!

Please elaborate on what you had to do to obtain 2 inch groups, (with CZ surplus I hope), apart from the mods you discussed. Looking forward to your .041 insert grouping report.

I like that setup! fibre front and the longest eye relief possible, should be great for an SKS!

Got a question though: for cleaning the action (corrosive ammo), how much of a pain is it to take off the dustcover, with that new rear sight of yours? And does it dependably hold a zero, even after cleaning it 10 times?

Yup, it hold zero. and the thru bolt is easy to remove. Haven't tried it 10 times yet but with the 4 set screws in the back in put in with loctite it should be good for a long time...

I use S&B 123gr Soft point when I zero in my SKS and my 2 inch groups were not alltheway out to 100M ... 75m at most using S&B 123gr
