Best TactiCOOL .22 rifle ... non-restricted... stupid gun laws

@Sapper
1" groups at 150 yards with a budget semi-auto 22lr? how regularly and what ammo you using...

Like I said I've owned 2 different 715Ts. IMO they outshoot my friends SR22. However shooting 1" groups at 150............ seems a little fishy to me!!!!! Maybe out of a target barrel bolt action, but a $300 semi auto. I'd say more like 2.5-3" at 150 as an average.

I'm a huge fan of the 715T, but it does seems to have issues. I say 'seems to' because I've had mine a year now, have run probably 2000 rounds through it and it has been dead nuts reliable.
It gets a lot of bad press about mag issues...that the magazines won't take all 25 rounds. Seems to be cured by 'forcing' in all 25 rounds when new and then letting the mag sit for a week to set the spring. I did that with both mags and it is now easy to load both of them.
As well it gets bad press for mis-feeds and failure to fires. Again, this appears to be a break-in issue. On my first couple of outings (maybe a total of 200 rounds) about every 4 or 5 rounds I'd have to clear a mis-fed round.
My last shooting session was yesterday...1/2 a brick of Blazer (250 rounds)...not a single issue of any kind.
It is a bear to pull apart. But all I do is use decent ammo and squirt some gun oil in the breach after every session and clean in the spring and fall. These aren't center-fires in a military zone...you don't gotta strip them apart after every firefight ;-)
I put a Leapers red dot on mine and at 50m POI is at POA. Pulling the trigger as fast as I can it is easy to put a full mag into a 3 or 4" circle.

Here's what I have: ISSC MK22. Non restricted. 22 round magazines. Mine loves the Federal 525 rd bulk packs.

Any reason why you can't just get a restricted license? The more people that have them, the more lobbying power we have to keep the firearms we have. It's not a difficult license to get, really. I gotta tell you, it's one of the best decisions I ever made.

Oh I do... but I can't go into the field legally and pop gophers with a restricted can I....

PS I do own a revolver :)

Haha yeah I get a lot of people asking about it at the range. It's basically half and half. The upper is aluminum, the grip/ trigger assembly and the stock are plastic. It kinda feels like a "real" gun when you pick it up. It has a few quirks, but after you figure them out, it runs beautifully; There are 2 bolts inside of it that need some blue loctite because if they come loose you get FTE's. When you load up the mags, make sure the cartridges are seated to the rear of the mag by holding the follower and bumping the back of the mag on the bench, otherwise you may get FTF's.
Is it mostly plastic or metal or half and half? How does it work? Any problems? That is the hornyest looking .22 I have ever seen!

CCI Blazer 40grain lead round nose & Federal 36gain copper plated Bulk 525 are what I shoot a lot and I can hit a 6" steel gong over and over at 120 yards, it helps the Federal 525 says exactly what the bullet drop is at 100 yards on the box, -5.6" @ 100yards.

I am only benching the gun on a fallen tree as I lay prone behind it.

Gun shoots extremely consistent and once you learn how your ammo performs at what distances you can do it over and over.

I'll make a video of it when my PAL renewal shows up, I expire tomorrow and cant take my toys out till then. :(

1" at a 150yds (not feet??).
You should post your real name...the Canadian National Biathlon and Olympic team will be wanting to look you up.

Beware. MANY people have had MANY issues with this gun. When they came out, there was a bashing thread on them every week, loaded with dissatisfied customers.
General consensus was that it was one of the most problematic rimfire rifles on the market.

I think the key word in your post is "WAS". The Genreal consensus on this is rifle is swaying in the right direction now.

Yeah I read all those threads before I bought mine. I got one of the second gen versions in which they had made some changes to the internals (some longer bolts and a different recoil spring, I think) With a bit of loctite on the bolts and mine runs like a champ

Just for the record I never mentioned anything about any .22 groups at all.

I have never shot a 1" group at 50 yards with a .22 let alone 150 yet. Just a lot of gophers.

I only asked about a trigger group posted in someone elses post. I too just got a 10/22 for my wife then started looking into making one for myself.

Sapper we were talking about killswitch. Alot of us would like to take him up on his 1" groups with his 715t. Yes they are great guns and before everyone jumped on the mossy bandwagon, I was one of the few that posted good things about them. However IMO an average group would be like 2-4" @150yds. Like Bob said, olympic team would look you up if 1" is what you can do with a 715t.

The mossy feels and is cheap and the mags are designed worse than any mags I've used. Apparently they're just an extended 10 rounder.

I'm too lazy to sit there and push tiny bullets into a mag anyway, so fer me it's a ruger with a speedloader.
