Best target for Burris FastFire II scope

Good luck, can't help wondering what your shooting but I guess it's a secret..... :)
The Target I have been using is a large 'splash' type target. the bull is too small and not a good contrast with the red dot, so my hold is more like a diopter sight picture, I put the dot in the middle of the large black target. This is my best 3 shot 100yd group to date. 200gr Hornady flat point 348 Winchester, at 2450fps, my idea of an effective bear spray.

Would not be of any help. Would not provide a better aiming point. I can just hold at o'clock a on large black target as is.Thanks though.
I got no issue with using 8inch rounds. Just have equal space around the dot. Get a target with a 5inch inner white circle then a black thick ring around.

Nice setup!
Centring the dot on the black off hand or basic field positions is probably not a bad way to sight in.

To be clear, my question is about Target selection....6" white bulleye, 6" black square . 8" black diamond, white 8"paper plate on brown cardboard backing sheet, or???
I’ve come to like this for shooting irons anywhere from 100m and further, I use the bottom point of the triangle as my point of aim. Very easily repeated poa.

I made a cardboard stencil out of a cereal box and spray paint them on 2’x3’ graph paper I get by the pad from Staples.

Looks like the Doug Turnbull mount on that 71. I have wanted one for a while but they don’t ship to Canada. Might have to find a work around. That looks great.

Well tried several suggestions including the large green bullseye. My old large splash target works the best. So back where I started, but useful information should I trya smaller red dot sight someday in the future. Attached photo is my zeroing sight with my Barnes X 200gr bullet load. At 2440fps average I think I'll settle on this load for the carbine :)

Scope has a 4MOA dot. Target suggestions for zeroing rifle at 100yds? At 100yds the dot fills aregular 100 yd target completely.
The whole premise seems bass-akward.

In practice we would generally buy an optic suited for the target we want to shoot. Not the other way around.

It sounds like the optic you have is maybe better suited to close-quarters combat and not 100 yard hunting.

Maybe I just don't get it.
