On an O/U/unsingle specifically for trap 32", on an repeater 28", on an O/U that will be used for more than trap 30".
ripitup911;12065356 Also remember not all guns are created equal 1 32" will feel different from another so its not really only about barrel length but typicaly all the top shooters in most disiplines are running 32" or 34" for trap.[/QUOTE said:This can a factor to consider as well, 32" barrels on a Kreighoff will have a different and charecteristics than a Beretta for instance.
Absolutely different guns of the same length barrels have different handling characteristics. My current gun, a Rizzini Fierce 1 32" O/U replaced a Citori Gold XT 32" O/U. The Rizzini handles like a Ferrari compared to the Citori which handled like a Dodge pick up when comparing the two. As much as I like the Rizzini though I ordered one for the coming season in a 32"/30" combo because I still prefer an unsingle barrel for singles and the 30" barrels for doubles. I am really anxious for spring both for the club to reopen and to try out my new combo gun.
I tried a 32" 725 this past summer. They are much slimmer in feel and handle much differently than an XT but I have to be honest. I have always been a real true Browning fan but the offerings in trap guns since the Citori Plus series has really been disappointing to me. I think the Plus was their last really great Trap offering in the Citori Trap line. For me the 725 had the feel of a nice skeet or sporting clays offering.
After lots of research on this issue, I found the correct answer: Which ever one makes you the happiest.
