Wich ammo would you guys suggest for these? I don't know what to get, any suggestions as long as they are not involving lead shots?

There would be a need to determine what brand(s) pattern best in your shotgun and then go from there.....personally, I find Kent Fasteel works very well for me.

determine that by.. shooting in a peace of paper i guess? and wich size ?

X2 on the Kent fasteel stuff. I like either BBB or BB for geese. Or the Winchester Xpert hi velocity works well too. (for me anyway) I think most people here prefer the Kent. For ducks I like #2's. I shoot the 3 1/2 inch stuff in 1 3/8, both at 1550 fps. I like the hi speed stuff. I have lots of 3 inch expert HV I want to shoot off first, then I think I will just start shooting all 3 1/2 BB at everything! Much simpler. As for the grouse thing, I find the cheap 1 1/8 ounce #7 1/2 works just fine.

For grouse lead is the best bet....light loads of 6s or 7 1/2s.....7/8s oz. o.k. a twenty gauge or smaller is even better(less damaged bird).....For ducks and geese 3" or 3 1/2" steel B.B.s simplifies things!

3 is faster than 31\2 though, 31\2 probably has more knocking power. Wich one? Just gotta try it i guess

Further to what has been stated by others, preferences will vary from individual to individual.....based on skills, experience, habit and shooting conditions. Personally, I use mostly 2 3/4 inch shells for waterfowl and almost always try to keep my shots aprox at 30yds.....

I've always had good results with Challenger ammo, 2-3/4 and 3" magnum shells. At least BB for geese. If you're pass shooting, go as big as you can find. IC or Mod choke. But if they're over decoys, #2 and open cylinder is also deadly.

For grouse, I really like the 100 round value packs in either 7.5 or 8... Over the dogs, the birds are always shot on the wing.

For ducks, I use #4 steel going 1550fps. Speed is the critical thing with steel shells...

Cheers

I've been using 7 1/2 winchester super speed loads on grouse, but find that they don't penetrate the brush all that well (and bush shots seem to be the only ones I'm getting!) As a result, I'm moving up to #6... hopefully it'll have a bit more reach.

I'm with jay on the speed but sometime i like to go abit slower say 1400 ft/s and get 1 1/4 oz of shot for the smaller sucks like teals. Abit more lead required but better patterns. For longer shots on ducks I use #2's.
For grouse I use the 100 pack stuff like say or if I'm hunting heavy brush i get the Kent Diamond shot which works well.

I would to the other direction; move up to #8 and put MORE pellets in the air. The bush can't get in the way of all of them. Remember, ruffies are easy to kill. #6 is my long range sharptail load.

I just kill grouse with whatever I have in the gun at the time. Mostly 3.5" #2 HV steel through a IM Choke cause I hate having to switch shells. I just take the heads off em...no ruined meat yet.

I use Hevishot #2 3.5" for geese. I use Federal High Density #2 3" or Remington 3.5" #2 steel 1550fps for ducks.
