Best universal decapping die ?

Can't say about large calibers but my Lee universal decapping die has worked flawlessly for me. I've used it for .223rem, .45ACP and .38spl.

The Lee Universal has worked well for me also. Lee website says:

"Lee Decapping Die, no cleaning or lubing of cases necessary. Even removes crimped primers. Fits cases up to .560" in diameter and up to 3.125" long"

I love using my Lee Universal, I just wish the pin was a little stronger. One berdan primer gets mixed in and you're looking for a new pin.

I don't reload .338 but use the Redding Universal Decapping Dies. "These#Redding Decapping Dies#allow you to deprime and clean your cases prior to sizing. The Small Die will deprime#22 through 50 caliber cases#with lengths up to 2-1/2", and the Large Die will deprime#284 to 50 caliber cases with lengths up to 3". The#17 to 20 Caliber Decapping Rod#works with the Small Die only and will deprime all 17 and 20 caliber cases and accommodates the small .060" flash holes found on many BR and PPC cases."

Lee universal for me. For the purpose, I think lee, rcbs, redding, hornady, etc, will do the job as well. I went with the cheapest and had no issues.

Totally agree. My Lee has been flawless for the 12 different calibers I load for. Why spend more money when you don't have too ?

So I guess it will be RCBS or Redding.

It has to fit 300 wm, 300 rum and 338 lm.

Thanks

Definitely could be stronger. $6 for a replacement pin + $15 to ship it or a new die for $17...
It did make an interesting new flash hole in the .223 case the got mixed in.

I have the Sinclair Universal decapping die. I use it for everything from 223 to 375 Weatherby and even on old LC brass that was crimped. Never had a problem - I have found it works better then anything else including a Lee die. I would not trade it for anything. Love it!!
