Best value ( Chinese ) spotting scope

As for bullet holes at 300, prob the 308s but 223/22 might be harder to see. Depends on the paper and lighting. I just checked and mine weighs 2.5 # and is 14" long. I'm 76 and don't find that too heavy. At Cantire they are discontinued but 10-ish years ago they were $180 +tax. Now Amazon has a selection from $160 up to over $1000.

Clarity is better. The fuzz around the edges and the field of view when you zoom in does not shrink as much with the Leupold. Again - same warranty so no issues there. I was considering a vortex crossfire compact. Reason I went away from it was the clarity and field of view. Small spotters good for short ranges where you have a target in mind already. Bigger objective for when you are looking for things. At 300 yards - bullet holes - easy. I think to 500yards would be capable. Have not had the time and or the weather to shoot far enough. I also have the vortex viper - the leupold is still better glass in my opinion.

Thanks for the review ! I was temped to get the crossfire just for the price point. So you have the sx-2 spotting scope or sx-4?
 
For prone/bench work, the old Freeland scope stands work good
