Just looking for a nice modern looking stock for my M14s, without breaking the bank. Do I have to spend $800-$900 to get a nice stock? or are there some good, modern style stocks out there that can be had for a couple hundred? Does Tapco make a stock? Were is the best place to pick a good stock?

The price has gone up a lot in a couple years time, but I paid $40 for my USGI several years ago, and I thought that was a lot for surplus. I would say though that even at the present price ($150-180?), they're probably the best value and they work well with the Norcs. Also, they are customizable, and you can do some really good camo patterns with them.

Keep checking the EE. Just bought a fiberglass USGI stock for $125 from a fellow CGNer. If you want something more high tech you could always try M14Doctor. He builds fiberglass stocks in different configurations.

I am not looking for a USGI stock, I was looking more for SAGE type of stock stystem, but I did'nt really want to pay $850 for one. Is that pretty much the only option I would have though, if I wanted a stock that looked very modern, and had rails and a adjustable stock? I did'nt know that the M14 Doctor builds stocks. Does anyone have any pics of them?

Not sure but I think Sage stocks are more than $850 up here - if you can find one. They sometimes appear on thye EE. You might want to check out Vtlor and Troy as well but again these are not cheap. And some are difficult to get because of US State Department restrictions on exporting military stocks.

Check out Marstar as well - they have a AKM or something stock for the M14.

Ya, I have checked out the Marstar stocks, but they are quite expensive also. Its too bad that Tapco does'nt make a nice affordable stock for a M14, like they do for the 10/22 and the SKS.

These are some of M14 Doctors ones. But they are not cheap, but they are considerably less then a sage or whatever.

Another option if you have the time, is buld your own with a USGI fiverglass stock, thats what M14Doc did before he started producing them from scratch. (I Think) Thats what I plan on doing, Ill play around with the norc stock then after I work out the bugs do the same to a USGI Stock, That is if Marstar ever gets those m14's in lol.

I agree! Tapco stocks are very well made and well priced.
I got lucky (I hope) and found a USGI fibreglass stock from a forum member. I should receive it by Friday.
I may also want something a bit more modern.

Any local (GTA area) M14 experts?

Why the heck has'nt Tapco come out with a nice $130 stock for the M14, like they have for the SKS?

There seems to be a big enough market for one, even if they just sold them in Canada.

They allready check for made it and price over 200 $ US it's why the don't made it, I check with them, can be nice for Canadian market, depend of demand too and final price.

The problem it's if you want a M14 Tapco stock for 130 $ it's impossible, I think more around 250 $ Can

Save you Crapco gear for the SkS's. You would probaly be better off keeping your Chinese Zytel stock and not wasting any money.
