Hey all,
Looking for advice on a decent .22cal <$500 Air rifle, that will be used for pest control. Something that won't break the bank, and is good for 50 yards.

I'm not overly interested in PCP, too much hassle with tanks and\or pumps\compressors.

Bring on the suggestions! :)

Thanks all.

50 yard break barrel pesting ? My brother does well with a .22 cal Diana 350 Magnum with a Vortek kit. Quality, accuracy, hits hard at 50 yards. Having said that, I've watched a British video of someone with a .22 cal HW 97 KT sniping rabbits to 65 yards or so. Not a magnum rifle but the retained energy and an excellent marksman did the job. Check out the Walther Terrus as well. Watched some videos i found impressive.

I would recommend a Crosman Vantage Nitro Piston. Less recoils than straight spring. I have one in .177 and it's also pretty quiet. Look on youtube vids by ' myairgunreviews ' - He has a long review on the Crosman Vantage (https ://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OIRvxsIs5w) They are made in both calibers and are only around $150 CD, depending on the dealer. Mine was $119 = tx.
