How do you have your sling attached to your AR-15?

Single-point attached the buffer-tube?

Attached to the handguard and buffer-tube?

Attached to the handguard and butt-stock?

Anything other configuration?

Please explain why you prefer any particular set-up.

Vickers sling for a right handed shooter - Front attached just in front of the upper receiver/barrel nut on the left side of the rail and rear attached to the right side of the buttstock.

Why do I like this? I've tried all other set ups.

Properly installed ASAP and RSA mounted to rear top of handguard. Sling does not get in the way of the cocking handle and i find i have more free movment with the rifle. Its like the best points of a one point in a two point sling set up.

2 point slings save your knees from getting stuck by your barrel btw, i really see anyone running one points in the real world.

+1
I have a box full of slings, swivels, gizmos, gadgets (no pun intended, Sir!) serving as mute testament to the 'been there, done that' school of sling trials.

Depends on what you are going to do with the gun I suppose. I personally love the old school green bean Marine GI leather sling for marksmanship work. I have the Vickers sling on my Tavor and it is clearly superior for the 'run n' gun' work...and it probably would work pretty good on the AR15 for marksmanship and position shooting - but it isn't my preference.

The sling is one of the most neglected topics of discussion too. Cripes, yesterday I saw a kid doing the biathalon with one of those new Anschutz rifles with the Fortner bolt! When the kid is done shooting he does this funny flip of the gun, holds his hands up - and the gun and sling straps come down and settle on his shoulders faster than you can think about it! The kid was half a mile away by the time the gun settled on his back! That was a really intriguing demonstration he put on.

I would love a biathalon sling - be damned if I know who makes them though.

When I was at the Calforex cup back at the end of January everyone had one of those slings. Granted, some were literally shoe strings and duct tape, but they still got the job done.

I had one made out of webbing back when I had my Ruger GSR, but then I sold that rifle and forgot about the sling. By the time I remembered what the sling was for I had already cut it up to make a bag. I'm going to try to make another one soon. After I finish my bag, and the other two slings, and get a dozen other projects done.

Can't really tell from the picture if this is the type with the two shoulder straps or not. Looks like it might even be just one shoulder strap.

I've got my VCAS on the bottom of my MOE stock, running to my gas block. Not sure if I like it there or not.

Does this work well on heavier ARs set up for precision work or do you recommend a different sling and/or configuration?

.30/06 FTW

Already saw that vid and already read that thread, and already have my sights on the VCAS but until I pick one up I'll keep my eyes and ears open for alternatives.
