best way to clean my new mosin barrel

I use Gunslick's foaming bore cleaner and a bore brush, works every time. I also use a steam cleaner on all my firearms, gets in every nook and cranny. Used it on my SVT-40 when I cleaned it, bet you wont find a cleaner gas regulator.
 
You should also clean the chamber, cosmoline can get caked in there and when you fire it tends to warm up and cause a sticky bolt. I used a 20 Guage brush wrapped a patch around it and dipped it in solvent. I then attached a couple pieces of old cleaning rod to it and used a cordless drill to slowly clear it out.
