i scratched off a bit of paint with a careless punch earlier today. Is there any way to fill in the scratch and polish the finish until its smooth again? Its not so bad you can see bare metal but the gun WAS brand new a second ago
I feel your pain, I put a big scratch in my $500 AR lower about 30 seconds after I took it out of the box, what can I say but #### happens. I just keep telling myself that the scratches and dings give the gun character.
Doesn't sound like a fatal blow but you could simply grab a black crayon, fill the scratch and then use a rag to blend it back. Permanent solution, no but it will likely make your mistake disappear. Engravers do this all the time.
I'm glad that this worked for you! The nice thing about a crayon over paint of any kind is that it fills the sratch and you "level" it by rubbing it in. Now blast away!
