Best way to darken the stock on my CZ 453 ?

I am a big ballistol user to clean my guns. As it is also good with woods, I always wipe the stocks of my rifles with a ballistoled rag before putting in the safe. I have noticed that it does quite good to wood AND it darkens the stocks a bit after a few uses. If you want to enhance the beauty of your stocks and darken them a bit = Ballistol.
That is my experience.

Ballistol is comprised of mineral oil, among other things. It can serve well for cleaning but it should not be used on wood. Like silicone, ballistol makes the wood look shiny but it is a wood contaminant. RFC finishing guru noremf, who has spent an entire career working with wood finishes, gives his thoughts and advice in the following threads

Glenn,
I have read noremf comments on RFC some time ago. Though I have a lot of respect for his experience and opinion, I have used ballistol on wood stock for many years and I like the result. I also know other gun people have used ballistol on their gun stocks for years.
Of course this is only my personal opinion.

Fair enough.
