Best way to Prime?

I have hand primed my cases for a long, long time.
I like to be able to easily "feel" the primer seat in the case.
It also helps me flag cases with loosening primer pockets.
I have 4 - Lee Auto-Prime tools to save switching shellholders.
Also one RCBS unit, which I use for RUM, RSAUM and WSM offerings.
Do not like priming with either of my presses.
Regards, Eagleye.

Agreed. I also hand prime only (for rifle, anyway -- pistol loads are "Dillon-ated.")

I have both an RCBS tool and a Lee tool. I bought the RCBS tool way back when I started in the game after borrowing a buddy's Lee tool to get started. I liked the Lee tool WAY WAY better and I was so happy when my buddy "retired" from reloading and I got it "back."

I find that the more complicated RCBS tool has a big metal arm that acts as a form of safety, but it catches and hitches, and if I'm working quickly, the hitch jostles the primer tray and makes the lid flip up just enough that a couple primers flip upside down on me. The full range of movement in the RCBS hand unit is just a little bit more than what is comfortable, but you MUST let it open all the way for the arm to clear the tray and feed another primer in. I find that causes strain when I did 200 or more in a sitting (always)

I can prime 500-1000 with the Lee tool without half the stress and strain I experience with the RCBS tool. Changing from LR primer to SR primer is easier with the Lee.

My only beef about the Lee is that the primer tray is slightly smaller and it's a nuisance emptying a box of Federal primers into it. I use a cardboard funnel I made with duct tape...
