Best way to pull 22lr bullets...

22 rf bullets are close to pure lead = very soft = lead barrel
also they are undersized for 223 = lead barrel

powder = not usable in center fire

Do not use hammer type bullet puller = could go bang = you are hitting the rim BTW

Good question. If that is true, perhaps copper plated would hold up better? This is starting to sound like a Mythbusters experinent. I gotta think about this for a minute and see if I can find a container to shoot in.
Pretty sure they'd mushroom in water, wouldn't they?

What about swaging down some #4 buck shot for your mouse farts?

Or this looks pretty easy to try....

There was a video Toeflaedermaus I believe, who used 22 pellets driven by 22cal blanks for impact chisels. He got tremendous speed and good accuracy but I believe he mentioned the barrel leaded up pretty badly.

I saw that video. He got tremendous speed yes, but accuracy was piss poor. Hitting feet off target at 50 yards if memory serves.

I don't think plated would prevent any mushrooming, perhaps would cut down on lead fouling though.

I don't have a .22 swage. That's what I do for my 30 cals though. Works well.

Thanks for the vid. Might give that a go anyway. Looks like some MacGyvery fun :)

I have used .22 pellets over a primer in .223 with good success. Much easier and safer than pulling rim fires apart.

Any more details?

Just the regular primer? Magnum? How were your speeds or comparable penetration? Accuracy? Drop?

Thanks!

Yes. Way more speed then I'm looking for. He was blowing up watermelons. I just want something for bunnies and squirrels and grouse.

Also, his were going so fast, some left the skirt behind in the barrel. Dangerous.
