Hello all. I had just sold my shotgun to another fellow CGN'er And I'm just worndering what would be the best way to ship it to him??? I'm not very familiar with shipping things through mail so any help would be appreciated :)

Good morning. I personally used a long cardboard box which you may be able to pick up from a funiture outlet or some such. I wrapped the pieces in bubble wrap, and put some heavy cardboard at each end of the box so nothing would poke through in handling. I wrapped the box in heavy kraft paper, and reinforced all the edges with strong nylon fibre tape. I wish I had kept some pics, but you get the idea. Lots of luck

Thanks for the quick replies guys! :) do u put the buyers address on a piece of paper and tape it on?? Or does Canada post have some sort of sticker to put on??? Once again thanks guys :)

You can write the address on the wrapping, or apply a label. Make sure it won't come off. I always put the address on at least twice, in case something happens. I've mailed hundreds of guns, never had one get lost.

you need to write all the info on the package just like mailing a letter. They weigh it put their own tracking number sticker on it give you shipping confirmation ( tacking #) and ship. Then e-mail the tracking # to the buyer.

I always overwrap everything ...... I also completely cover the shipping label with clear packing tape .... gives a sort of laminate protection to who it's going to , same with return address, I tend to wrap everything in old bed sheets as well , and stuff the ends with cardboard parer etc... works well , send expedited , insured, and signature required.

My local post office staff laughs at my long silver (duct tape) packages. I tell them that, this way if something does happen I know who to blame. Cheapo gun cases and duct tape for the guns over $1000.

For some of the niceer rifles, i suggest to the buyer that he add $20 to the deal and I will ship in a new Canad Tire cheap plastic rifle case.

I duct tape around the case at the latches and use clear tape to seal down the shipping labels (1 each side).

If paranoid about the labels, put one inside the case.

I print the shipping labels in 26 font.
