Best Zombie Handgun?

i should also add gun and ammo that will do a lot of damgage to a zom, sure if you get a good head shot, but your better at breaking bones, like legs, they can 't walk of run with broken legs, and grab with bussted arms, or bite with the jaw blown off, so a gun and ammo that will do max damage. also knock them over for a bit so you can get away or better able to do a head shot.

I know people are going to make fun of me for this one but i would go with a really good .22lr pistol with lots of mags. Reason being you can cary massive amounts of ammo for it. A 500 rnd brick wieghs less and takes up no more room then 3 50rnd boxes of 9mm. BUT dont worry thats not all id venture out into zombie land with, id be taking my 590 Mariner loaded with 00buck and maybe even some slugs just in case things get scary lol

I'd take my 10/22 with me too.

All depends on what kind of zombies you are talking about.... and why are some people naming rifles??? Jeez, the thread asks for your choice of HANDGUN! Of course there are better choices, but that's the fun of it. Handguns can be under-powered for some applications, and have a limited range, which makes for a better debate.

Are they the lame-ass zombies a la Night of the Living Dead, which are driven by an unknown evil force, and only go down with a brain shot? The slow ones that you could outrun on a tricycle?

Or are they the more realistic 'zombies' a la 28 Days Later, who you can still take down with normal vital shots because their bodies are still functioning within the realm of reality? These are the fast, almost adrenaline driven zombies.

Tough call IMO. The first type are slow, which makes achieving the required brain shot fairly simple, and I would guess that 9mm would be more than ample for zombie skull penetration. I would say G17 with 17 round mags, but alas, I cannot shoot a Glock dead center.... always low left. Not good when we are talking about so small a target. So I would actually go for my .22LR SS Ruger Mark II Target. The second type, are super fast, but the effective vital zone is much, much larger as it includes center mass torso shots. So it kind of evens out in a way. For these guys I would want a single stack 1911 chambered in .45ACP, with 8 or 10 round mags, assuming they feed 100% reliably.

HELL NO!!!! Taurus JUDGE, in .410 3" Magnum Buck SHot to BLOW up the damn zombie heads right off.

9mm, ,45 only does holes, you need to BASH the zombie in for good. Nothing like 00 Magnum shotshells baby :D:D

Oh, and ALWAYS!!!! DOUBLE TAP..... :D:D

X2. That was my first thought when I read this threads title.

Para Ordnance P18-9; Double stack 9mm in a steel frame 1911. 18+1 capacity.

Add the 15 mags I have and I can keep the undead at bay for hours without reloading.

271 zombies down.

Theres one with 13 round magazines too.
Nice and light, common ammo, good recoil and accuracy.

This would supplement a 12 gauge pump shotty.

Great, just need to reload 410 shells or buy expensive shells for em.
And the be within clawing range for it to be effective.
Useless.

We did say HANDGUN :) its for the "OH SHHIT" Moments, like when your in the shiitter and they start crawling in from under the bathroom doors .... your long gun ain't no goo there eh?

But normally my Ar with Beta Mag is still in hand, for the long range use :)

I know a guy who got shot in the face and arm with a .45 last week, he didn't disappear in a shower of sparks.

Bet he didn't eat anyone's brain though! :D Wait, seriously? You know someone who was shot in the face and arm with a .45 ACP last week? Any more to the story?

Jeff
