went to Lebaron store today - they said all Bettinsolis sold out.
Someone must have some feedback. Are they good?
They expect more in March but at the higher prices.
Thinking about getting one with high rib and adjustable comb for trap shooting.
My other option is Browing Citori XT Trap which is similar (not by quality of course) but would be about $1000 more.

Bettinsoli is a very old and established firm in italy
they make fine firearms and a very well equipped
they wanted to get into the trap and skeet world and pushed their product on most shooting clubs
.......but......
Perazzi and Beretta are so well established in europe that bettinsoli never had a chance
other makers like Marocchi had the same problems
in Europe all and I mean all top shooters use beretta and perazzi
you do not see anything else on the field apart from the shooter that is sponsored and gets it for free
in north america Browning is more used and citori is a reference
if availability is not a problem a beretta silver pigeon or the like for a beginner is not a bad gun at all
check also what after sale service you get!!!!!

You are right.
Sales rep at Lebaron said there is one year warranty and they are distributed by Stoeger Canada but I could not find any reference to Bettinsoli on stoeger website.
Lebaron does not have a gunsmith on site which means every little problem you would have to pay to gunsmith to fix it or send it to stoeger and miss few weeks of action at the shooting range.

When I bought my shotgun from Sail and had a little hiccup with it their gunsmith fixed it in 3 days on site. I am not promoting Sail store but I like this option better.

I recently picked up the X 9 sporting model from Gagnon's in Oshawa. I've only had it out a few times but so far it seems to be a well made dependable shotgun. Wood to metal fit is excellent and the wood itself it pretty decent. No issues with it mechanically. Comes in it's own hardcase with 5 chokes I believe and a wrench to adjust the comb. It seems to be light as I was previously using a field grade Browning but the felt recoil isn't bad at all. Bac4

Great to get feedback from someone who actually owns it.
Do lower and upper barrel shoot the same? Do you "cover" the target/clay or point under it? Never shot an O/U but heard this is how they shoot.
Thanks in advance

Many O/U trap guns shoot to a higher point of aim than a skeet or sporting clays gun, but all O/U shotguns, definitely do not shoot above the point of aim.

I haven't had a chance to take it to the patterning board as yet but I average 22- 23 on trap and about the same at skeet which is generally about what I normally shoot. If you want to try it out, I'll be home from Florida in about a week & a half. I see you are in north GTA,shoot me a pm and we can meet at Oshawa. Cheers Bac4

the gun shop in kitchener has some bettinsoli,s..i bought one from them..on sale for 1750..it is a very well made trap gun for the price with some features of higher end guns like adjustable comb ,palm swell and raised rib..i like the hard case finish with gold inlay that is not over ingraved..shot 4 rounds of trap so far with no probs

new shooter...i think that sales rep at lebaron was feeding you a line of crap..bettinsoli and franchi ARE owned by the beretta group that is why the 2 guns quality has improved. The x8 is bettinsoli,s introduction into the trap market and they did a very good job with the gun with VERY good reviews.i bought a x8 and in my opinion the x8 trap is just as much of a gun as the 686 but not as pretty.. $800 difference in price..My source of info..the owner of gun shop in kitchener had 50 of them imported..he also told me that bettensoli is very dedicated to its customers..and if anything EVER goes wrong with the gun bring it back to him..it will be dealt with in a timely matter

Thanks for the info. However I was somewhat surprised as I know Franchi is part of the Beretta group. I wonder if Beretta are also involved with Bettinsoli ?

It is getting hard to keep track of who is who among the firearms manufacturers.

Beretta is beginning to do some outsourcings. In fact, I learned at this years shot show that their new side by side is made by Fausti. Also a couple of browning O/U's that are sold in Europe are made in Turkey --- Go figure?
