beveling 1911 mag opening

Just wondering if anyone has beveled the stock mag well to help mag changes? it looks to me like it could be cleaned up a bit, i just dont like the look of the fullsize add ons on my commander, so i thought id ask about this first.........thanx

There's enough metal there for a nice bevel job,I did my Norc, then found an S&A well for a good price right afterwards, doh!

I have opened the entrance on most of my mag. fed handguns. I find it works great and does aid in the mag. change. A better way to go is with the S&W mag-well/backstrap setup. I also open these up allot and blend them into the frame of the handgun. The results is an opening that is allot larger.

thanx i will look into that, i want to keep the gun small so i dont like the look of the well, i can always add it later & blend it like u said if i need it, i will clean it up...........thanx
