Beware of Cheap Shipping Prices from Vendors!

How about to warn others, and call out the dealer?

I appreciate knowing about this crap prior to making the mistake of ordering from them.

I fail to see how this is the dealers fault. Sure they should help the guy out but they have zero obligation in my opinion. I have bought lots from them and their packing jobs have been great.

The rusty barrel = dealers problem to fix.

Anyone ever actually look at what shipping companies consider " proper packaging " ?

If every retailer followed shipping company rules on what they consider proper packaging then shipping costs would go up as a result of packages being much larger than they have too. In actual fact many shipping companies won't cover damaged insured goods unless what they define as " proper packaging " is shown.

It can be a lose, lose situation.

Not impressed that they didn't just send you a free sight and also by the fact that they don't just include insurance in the shipping price like most other companies do. They have likely lost many customers and $$$ just from this thread alone over something that would have been dirt cheap for them to fix.

Is this the same company that treats all non-restricted and non-firearms sales as if you are purchasing a restricted firearm? Requiring all your PAL info etc. for a set of screws? So they package their stuff poorly too? More reasons to avoid doing business with said company.

This thread should really be a lesson to everybody in the retail business.

If it costs them ONE sale, that one sale probably would have paid for three dozen replacement sights. Even factoring in the extended costs of (say somehow) an hour of skilled labour to package the sight up and personally drop it in a mailbox, what do you lose if ONE sale is driven away by this thread?

That is something I have tried to communicate roughly a hshieg9illion times to people in various businesses. I don't care what the replacement costs you. Publicly failing to address a concern costs you more.

It's incredible to me how many people are still around that haven't gotten this yet, and haven't figured out that this is often the single biggest difference between them and another, much more successful company. What is the relationship of the customer to the business? Because man, it's an internet world these days and word travels FAST and relationships and trust are destroyed overnight. Not everybody gets how important this is. But before long, IMO, if you're still standing, it's either because you get this or because you got in to a business that deals exclusively with Helen Keller. And even then...

Ding, ding, ding....we have a winner!

I recall questar use to just forward on items from their supplier onwards to their customers without first opening the package to see contents and inspecting for damages.

Bad mojo for me.

Companies maintain customers and generate new business from word of mouth and quality of service. That can only come from building trust credits and social licensing, which I know very very few in the gun business lack. They are the few and the too proud.

Why most my stuff comes from the USA instead

Why doesn't the OP post in their section to possibly get a response? This thread seems worthless if the sponsor in question doesn't respond to the problem.

This is the Black and Green Rifles forum.
This thread has nothing to do with black, green or any other colour of rifles.
