Hi Guys I have a friend who looking to sell his M16. He is the orginal owner and bought this in 1990 for $1995. It's still unfired and has the orginally zap strap on the Charging handle. :)

He isn't into firearms anymore and is look to sell this but isn't sure what it's worth. Was hoping you guys can help me out and give me an idea what it's current market value is.

It's got gold plating everywhere. Thanks for in advance for your help. Here are some pics.

Saw one on Gunbroker.com for $2,800.00. and pretty sure the market value back in 2010 was about $2,100.00

He wants me to buy it from him but it's not my cup of tea. I like things I can actually take to the range and enjoy. :)

That being said I was curious to see what these are actually worth. IMHO it's kind of ugly. ;-)

I would love to have one of those. I would shoot the crap out of it.

I also have dreamed of getting a mint Winchester 94 commemorative .30-30 and using it as truck/swamp gun. I have always scorned the idea of manufactured "collectables".

Calling guns ugly. Some of you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. All guns have a beauty that can only be appreciated by true aficionados. :p

YOU WEREN'T THERE MAN...HOW WOULD YOU KNOW WHAT IT WAS LIKE.

It's a priceless replica artifact that is probably worth a bajillion dollars to someone....but not to me.

I wouldn't pay more than about $800 for it.

Bear in mind, the US Market is completely different for this rifle......
