I was hoping that someone might be able to explain to me the different opinions on where in the world the Browning Hi Powers are assembled?
This was not something I had really thought of and as I will soon be in the market for one of these I would like some more information.
I read a post in the EE where the cgner wanted one assembled in Belgium but not Portugal.

Any thoughts, help or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

THANKS :)

Up until the early 90's, all BHPs were manufactured and assembled in Belgium. Since then, assembly has been moved to Portugal while the components are still manufactured in Belgium. There is no perceptible difference in quality between Belgian and Portuguese-assembled guns. In fact, the later are considered more durable because of the improvements introduced by FN to the Mark III model, which were implemented at the same time as assembly was moved to Portugal.

So basically for the average user, such as myself, I generally need not concern myself with where it is assembled....? EXCELLENT!

Thanks for the links RobAK
