I am not up on my BPH`s so am turning to some of you folks for some help.
I have a Inglis BHP, and was wanting to know about the red paint in the back side of the grips. What does it mean having them painted red. What if they are not painted? Can you have one painted and one non?
Thanks,
The best to you all, and have a safe and Merry X mas.

guesing here, but I might suspect it was red lead or another primer like substance to prevent rust from forming between wood that might trap moisture and the metal of the frame. As for one with and one without, probably one was made later or a replacement part on a pistol that had one damaged

Yes mine interior grips were painted in red too. Maybe this paint prevent oil to get into the wood or to prevent moisture to attack metal.

The Inglis HP should have plastic grips, I guess yours have been replaced with FN HP factory wood grips like repete and others said.
