Alright, I'll play too - here is the smallest framed revolver S&W ever made (M-frame) vs the third largest frame revolver S&W ever made (N-frame). Toonie for scale as well

will it not shoot hardball? too long maybe? I use to have some lead flat nose way back .

Yes, slightly too long. The gun was designed around a specific cartridge, Winchester Silvertip 60 grain hollow point. PMC came out with it's own 60 grain hollow point with the same dimensions as the Winchester cartridge, they work fine and WAY cheaper.
