Called the CFP line today after seeing that my application was signed for monday and is still not entered into the system, they said that from today there is a 15-20 day backlog before they even open my envelope and start the process.

yikes!

Your 28 days begin on the date Miramichi has received your envelope.

It'll be another 2-3wks or so before they show up online as received but note the received date. It would be within a day or two of them receiving the app.

bear.23 you're right, it probably wouldn't make a difference for most people, however I'm already expecting mine is going to be well past the 28 days due to another issue and because of this any more time just stacks on top of it.

Typically, it takes 19-20 days after CFC receives your application before it appears online. The 28 day wait period starts from the day they sign for or receive it.

Well the RCMP "check your application online" will be your best friend or worst enemy for the next 45 days or so, trouble in Ontario is not only the RCMP being backlogged but also the CFO. As you may or may not know the application bounces back and forth between the 2 for almost 45 days in a perfect world. Then you will still have to wait 1-2 weeks for the plastic to show up in your mailbox. If you buy a handgun well its another month to get it transfered to you, then another month for the ATT :) Good part is your get ALOT of reading time lol

LOL, so true!

I submmited my application(Non-R and R in Alberta) in OCT 2012, they received on OCT 25,2012, just got my card in the mail JAN 11,2013. Almost 2 and a half month. Took less than 2 weeks to receive the card in mail after got approved. Called in myself for my interview, and asked friends to call in for theirs, I think I saved sometime this way. Good lucky waitting everyone!
