How much experience do you have with native guides like this? No outfitter within hundreds of miles, and they speak no English and live in a different world than the rest of us, with a different outlook on life. It's not that they are necessarily lazy...but their outlook and their thinking processes are completely foreign to ours. A rifle in hand...ammo for that rifle...a plan for the hunt, or even for supper...they might have this stuff, but they might very well not as well.
I've dealt with this type of "semi-guide" on occasion; I have no problem believing that his guides, at that particular moment, were unarmed.
