Trapped in Alaska, weighed in at 81 lbs - Female. Fat as a Watson Lake beaver.

My friend has spent a few chilling nights waist deep in the swamp to hunt 4 or so for his wife's winter coat. I thought he was crazy, but they made a damn warm coat and where he lives it's usually -20° every day of the winter for 3 months.
 
Did you know that an adults beaver's tail only gets wider as the beaver grows, never gets longer. Learn something new every day... and yes, thats one large beaver, beats my best of 63 lbs..

my best was an old female of 72ish pounds...mean as hell. Was hired by a city to remove a colony and relocate them. this contract kept repeating for 4 years. I kept catching kits, young and adult males bu the old female laid low and kept getting new Bfs and kids! When I finally got her, she filled the trap!

not un common my way we have taken 90lbs plus beavers still a great thing to see if there left alone they will turn into chunky monkeys. sold big pelts and they did not fair out as well as the little ones.
