Big birthday coming up real soon...

Geeze 1899, I was reading all thru your OP & was smiling away thinking you were going to say one of my fav cartridges & one that had a conection to your username.....the .250 Sav...boy did you drop the ball there :(

Hey Senior! The .250 Savage is fantastic - it is my favorite small bore big game cartridge. It does however, have a few years to go til its 100th birthday.

Old is not only ok but its a lot of fun too.
Today I was shooting my 6.5x54, an old Trapdoor Springfield and a 104 yr. old Remington Mod.8 in 35 Rem.
Much to my amazement the old 35 shot a 1.3" group with a case full of 4064 and a 200 gr. Hornady bullet, the old M/S went about 2", and the Trapdoor about a minute of dinner plate.... so much for 65 year old eyes, wish they were a bit younger . :(

Sorry for the hi-jack fellas...

minute of dinner plate,LOL!! thats great mind if I use it?

BTT

This is a link to Holland and Hollands .375 H&H 1912-2012 commemorative. Twenty-five of these beautiful rifles were built. Apparently price runs US$59,000 to US$72,000 each.

I should have bought that H&H Mauser that I saw at the Calgary gun show in 2007. I was on my way to The Dominican with my wife and some friends and figured that showing up at my brother's place with a new rifle was a sure way to catch a beating.:D It was a classic old girl that deserved to get back out hunting. I've often wondered where it ended up.

My latest toy. 85 Bavarian in 375. Topped it with a Leupold 2.5-8. I added the tac bag to raise my cheek weld for the scope, but that comes off if I am using the irons. Added my C7 sling from Battle School 20 years ago, as I was feeling somewhat nostalgic.
