LOL,wasn't "Grouseman" posted the Westfield buck,it was me.Good guess though,that big fella came right outta the Nerepis marsh.I take it you know the area just a bit?Down here in Martinon meself.

Yeah.. seems the mods closed it, did'nt like my use of the word queer! lol, remember we all must be politically correct and not insult anyone... But in straight English lang, my use of the word in that particular sentence actually means he is "wierd" Number one definition from Oxford Dictionary of Current English,, QUEER,, 1. STRANGE, ODD..... YEP! Anyone who thinks he owns the deer in a particular part of Canada is QUEER!

I have a guy in my area thinks he owns the deer on the crown land too. Last I spoke to him it was dark in our area I was coming out he was going in so I asked him why he was out driving around with his lights on in the field/ He replied I am looking to see if my deer shows up in this area tonight.
I sort of spoke to a buddy of mine who is a fireman and he said he has been giving him the gears ever since.
Anyhow, were you canoing along the river and jumped him, or what?

A very good way to measure a deer. # of points works too.

I agree that i'd have a hard time getting excited about an imature buck
....if that wasn't what I was hunting for.
I also agree that if I saw a 150lb coues in an area where a 120 was a good buck I'd be excited.......
Have never hunted them....
Finally, I agree that any animal that you see Hunting and makes you say
"HOLY BUCK!" is something to be gratefull for.
No,that's not me in the pic,it's my buds Andrew and Ted.Nuther good guess by you though,lol.My buddy Andrew(left) lives on the Campbell Rd with waterfront on the marsh.Buncha geese came in and landed in the marsh so he grabbed his shotgun,hopped in his boat,went up river some towards Lonewater and hopped out on the other side to stalk up on the geese.Seen the buck's antlers where he was bedded in the marsh,switched out the steel for slugs,snuck up and shot him.Lucky bastard.
Big bodied deer dressing 220 but only scored about 130ish,maybe past his prime,I dunno??

Mt biggest bodied buck dresses out at 242lbs.I have shot onlt a handfull over 200lbs.I have also shot some dandy sized does.The two does I got this year dressed 147,and 149lbs.
My father got a buck back in 1977 that dressed 314lbs weighed after hanging for three days.I would liked to have known what it would have weighed fresh.
