Will be looking at adding a "big bore" bolt action (or 2) to my collection in the next year or so, leaning towards a .375 H&H and maybe a .416 Ruger. Undecided on exact makes and models, maybe a Win Model 70 or CZ 550 Safari for the .375 H&H and maybe a custom for the .416 Ruger, but interested to see what others out there have as it might give me some other options/ideas so post them up!!!

Something with express sights if DG is in your plans.

BRNO 602 .375 H&H, 20" barrel, QD rings, barrel sling mount to protect your front hand.

Bush/camp rifle. The short length makes it easier to transport and handle in thick bush.

I have a 416 Rem in a Sako 75. Very nice rifle. I have yet to shoot it but we have another 416 Rem in the house that's more than a pound lighter and it's no problem offhand...:)
I have recently mounted a 1.5-6X Bausch & Lomb in the early Sako quick detach rings. It comes in at an even 10 lbs scoped so I don't see it being that bad to shoot.
On this site you'll see Jan holding a left hand Model 70, this is my son Eric's 416 Rem. http://www.precisionarmsmfg.com/

I've posted this before, its an '03A3 Springfield built and stocked by my late Brother over 20 years ago.
It features a full octagon barrel with an integral rib in 416 Taylor and has folding leaves in the rear sight.
Its easily capable of sub-inch groups with either 350 or 400 gr. Woodleigh loads.... providing one can hold it.
His build time including the stock work was nearly a year.

^Kevan you could fill this thread up, and I'm sure we would all appreciate it. Got a picture of the 50 AK siamese mauser yet?

This is a club I would like to join; but I think I need to fill in the lower end first.

Yes, I would definitely have irons and quick detach scope mounts, I really like the multi-range flip up sights the BRNO and CZ use like on yours. Is that the Bavarian (hog back) or American (straight) style stock on yours?

I think it's a hogback but the 1.5-5x that I have on it now, lines up well for me.

That is one beefy barrel. Not often you see one that has more meat out passed the chamber.

Not nearly as nice as your guys' rifles, but she takes a lickin and is a perfect guiding rifle or general bush rifle.

Howa 1500 in 375 Ruger with a TRS-25 red dot. Had to add that cheek rest thing to get perfect cheek weld with the dot. Unfortunately the irons don't co-witness.

Very nice TM, mine was identical except that it had no irons, my Son now has it and really likes it.
Beautifully smooth and very accurate, a very well made rifle..... I might need another.
