Hey not sure if anyone here remembers me, been a little busy almost got into airsoft but thankfully I seen the light.

Just curious has anyone ever seen the big bore airguns in person held one or fired one. Secondly are they legal in Canada cause it would make a great part to my starting collection.

There is a .50 Career Dragon for $700 or so .It shoots .490 muzzle loader balls.Airgun Source is the store in Ont. I believe......................yes they are legal and Napoleon's troops faced Austrian's with PCP air rifles deadly to 100 yards and around. 60 caliber so they are nothing new........Harold

I did some research about them, I just wanted to know if anyone knew anything about them.

I had in my hands one of the type of air guns used by the Lewis and Clark expedition. It was owned by an expert on Lewis and Clark who had written books on the subject with a section discussing the Indian's amazement with this gun. It was quite a heavy thing that, if I recall, fired a 40 or 42 caliber ball.
Cheers

Freind of mine has a converted Daisy single shot handgun made into a 50 cal. that was quite unique, Made as a kit from a guy in the states, I can't see why they would not be able to import them as long as they were registered if over the 500 fps rule, take care Dale in T-Bay

A air pistol over 500fps is treated the same as a real handgun RESTRICTED.Same as in same jailtime.I wouldn't try driving that across the line.there are already large bore air rifles in Canada to buy as long as you have an FAC/PAL...............Harold

I held one at a gun show in Orangeville (ON) a few months ago. Really cool brass ball on the bottom that served as the reservoir for the compressed air. etc Once in a lifetime to see and hold one of those.

As for the big bores, the Dragon is good rifle, a little loud for an airgun but it hits objects with authority. If your interested i'll see if i can post a vid of a friend and I (his dragon) one shooting a block of ice into nothing.

Sure go ahead, also if anyone knows where you can buy them let me know I'm interested.

As for energy the Dragon is around 600-700 fps with mods and capable of taking deer and wild boar out to 75 yards or so.......................Google Dennis Quackenbush for likely the best PCP 's made.............Harold
