big bore take down lever

Although it is not the high arctic we deal with a lot of p bears here. I have never had a problem with my Marlin. Carry it almost every day,I do have other rifles .416 Ruger & this year a few 9.3x62's.BUM is right Inuit don't really like big bores like any .3o cal. 22-250 up to .243 is what we see north of us.

Nice Marlin Pounder! Is that 22" barrel with a full length mag tube installed? If so I'm in the process of building one like it myself. My 1895GS is nice, but a little light to point well off hand, and my 1895CB is too nice to take into the hills.

cody, geo. said it all hunting is very different than stopping. Why beat yourself up if you don,t have to. Also they can use one rifle for fox up to bear not my choice but I have no interest in hunting a polar bear. In my area the bears are here from about late June to late Nov. with a few that move through in March ( sows and cubs coming out of their dens heading out on the ice) so cold is not really a problem. I run my guns dry no oil, dust is the devil here. I do carry my .416 and will carry one of the 9.3's but the Marlin is nicer to carry.
blue56 This is a 1981 made 1895 I got the mag. from Brownels and had it put on,it is Parkerised (spelling) and stock painted only to protect the wood lol. WW big loop for when I wear gloves and because these old eyes can't use iron sights I took them off (nothing to snag anything) and use a Trijicon reflex sight.
