I am looking at the FAB Defense GL-MAG buttstock. It have seen it and like it. The only reason I am here is it says it will fit the both MIL-SPEC and aftermarket commercial tubes. How well does it fit the commercial tube?

there web site says
Unique Patented “Anti-Rattle” Mechanism allows fit on Both Tubes; MIL-SPEC and Commercial Aftermarket!

anyone know how well it works?

Mil-spec receiver extensions are thinner so this stock should fit a commercial receiver extension pretty good. If it has any kind of looseness it's going to be on the mil-spec receiver extensions.

Personally I like magpul or vltor stocks so not really my thing.
If you want to make sure something fits keep it simple and buy a stock the buffer tube was designed for.

Don't really see what the point is. Either you have a milspec or commercial buffer tube. Hence, get a stock that fits one of the two. No reason for some snake oil stock which will probably be too tight on one, and too loose on the other.

Fab makes their buttstocks fit both. There is no one or the other, just buy it and slap it on. Look at all their buttstocks along the lower keyway (dont know the correct term) of the buffer tube and you will see fingers that press inward on the buffer from either side to take up most of the slop. The only slop is a little bit of up and down that rotates off the pin. Doesnt mattter which tube you have, the Fab buttstocks fit it.
