In BC the biggest animal you can hunt with a shotgun and any slug is a black bear. No moose, elk, caribou, grizzly....

Same reason some provinces don't allow .22 centerfires for deer....Someone with little knowledge decided it was a bad idea, and nobody has cared enough to try and change the law.

This is a great thread!!!! It made me laugh out loud a few times. But really sheephunter had to know he was slipping a noose over his head by rating a shotgun with a 45-70.Or maybe he is oblivious to the cult following of the 45-70.

Lots of reading here...... very interesting..... guys chating.... cool..... some ups & downs..... I forget what page 1 was about, but I do own an NEF in 45-70 and an 870 rifled slug gun with a little Leupy on it. I'm glad to be able to own both. Hope to upgrade the NEF one day. I would feel comfortable shooting to 150 yrds with either of them with my old guy capabilities. I dare not say any more here on this thread.
