just curious which province has longest big game season. i think some areas only get a 2 week season????

here in northern ontario we get sat before thanksgiving to dec 15 ( just over 90 days) for gun deer and moose aug 15th to oct 31 for bear.

i think bow hunters get out 4 weeks early for deer and 2 weeks early for moose

In Alberta, depending on the WMU, you can start bowhunting as early as August 25, with one zone being open Until Feb. 21 for elk. Most zones are closed by the end of November, although there are quite a few elk hunting opportunities in December in some areas. Plus other species like coyotes are generally open all year round.

Manitoba it depends on the zones but just for whitetail in my zone this year you could start on August 29th and hunt until Dec 4th, there are other opportunities but you have to travel around...

For moose, in Newfoundland (island), in some management zones, from September 10, 2011 through January 8, 2012, or in other zones, from October 1, 2011 through January 29, 2012.

And, for bowhunters only, from August 27 through September 10, 2011, or alternatively, from September 19 through October 1, 2011.

In Labrador, from September 10, 2011 through March 11, 2012.

BC - single species, queen charlotte islands deer june 1 - feb 28
BC - big game anyday of the year somewhere for something.

In the old days we could hunt in Alberta in the forestry from the end of August till the end of Nov. with rifles. Shot a mule deer buck in August once and he was still in velvet and the horns were to slippery to drag him with. Then they brought in bow seasons and cut down the rifle season.
