Very nice  Make sure you put gun chaps on it or you might scratch it in the bush ;) :D The first 1895 I shot was a friend's in .303 British back when we were about 13 yrs old. It was given to him by his grandfather and had many, many elk kills to it's credit.

Tang safety? I dunno. Not sure if there is a tang safety, but it does not matter to me.

Winchester Model 1895 .405 Winchester. Modern day re-introduction of the famed Win. '95. The Winchester Model 1895 was one of the few that was strong enough for early smokeless cartridge loads. The big .405 was a favorite of T.R. on his 19th century African safaris. The President called this his: "Big medicine". Thanks to the manufacture of modern ammunition, another generation of hunters can enjoy Pres. Roosevelt's game shooting adventures. Rifle is unfired with factory shipping carton.
