Here's a doosey for y'all, I'm arguing with a friend who has never owned, shot or looked at an AR platform, I'm humoring him to be honest.
Here's the issue, I have an Armalite AR-10B series and a KAC SR-25 and I know they are proprietary component rifles, and yes the SR can use 60% of the AR-15 and M16 components besides the hammer and trigger, bolt carrier group if I'm not mistaken.
He's trying to tell me all rifles can use the same bolt assemblies, I'm telling him it depends on the company and barrels, one thing that's bugging me is can the SR-25 use a DPMS bolt assembly or Armalite or just KAC in a shift situation lol

for AR 15 yes there is military specification as a standard, however with 308's there haven't adopted a military specification. generally there are two schools Armalite and DPMS for bolt patterns and rail height, there use to be 2 different pattern for magazines but most of the newer versions seems to be settling on the AR10A\SR25\Magpul pattern, except RRA's LAR10 has their own mag pattern.

Thanks, I think it's AR-10A that's the one that can use the dpms pattern mags, the B series used the old style steel mags, and I'm still wondering about the bolt assemblies
