To all that have been patiently waiting on the new Arken Optics EP5 Gen II 7-35x56, I can finally share some info.

Arken Canada won't be getting the ARKEN branded version in Canada anytime soon. We will instead be getting the new DNT Optics branded version called DNT Optics "The One" in 7-35x56. DNT Optics is basically the factory's own new "internal brand". Built by the same people in the same factory with the same materials as the Arken EP5 Gen II version, but with different "owners" and in my opinion, slightly enhanced over the Arken EP5 Gen II scopes.

With DNT Optics being established recently, DNT Optics (Day Night Technologies) have taken over the ZULUS digital nightvison scopes and the new ThermNight (Digital Nightvision & Thermal combo). They have now just launched the new DNT 7-35x56 day riflescopes.

I have been very fortunate to have had the Arken EP5 Gen II 7-35x56 here together with the new DNT Optics 7-35x56 for the past 2 weeks, and I can honestly say I prefer the DNT over the Arken.

Here's what stays the same between the DNT 7-35x56 and the Arken EP5 Gen II 7-35x56:
  • Same materials used
  • Built by the same people, on same machines, in the same factory
  • Same Japanese glass used
  • Same "guts" - housing, lenses and internals
  • Same warranty, handled in Canada by the same people at Arken Canada
Here's where the DNT 7-35x56 differs to the Arken EP5 Gen II 7-35x56:
  • Lower price (US initial sale price on EP5 Gen II is US$600 or CA$830), and DNT 7-35x56 will initially be on sale for CA$810.
  • Turret caps, parallax "cap" and illumination "knob" slightly differently machined - the DNT has more of a diamond shaped "knurled" finish, and looks more classy in my opinion
  • Windage turret "zero marker" now at a 45 degree "angle" (between 10 and 11 o'clock) - so more visible when sitting behind the scope at a bench
  • New DNT reticle which has 0.2 MIL "hash marks" compared to the EP5 Gen II VPR reticle which only has 0.5 MIL hash marks
  • Laser engraving use slightly different fonts
The glass on this new DNT 7-35x56 scope is very clear, and the eyebox very useable, even at the high 35x zoom range.

Overall, I LOVE this scope.

I have MANY pre-orders for these DNT 7-35x56 scopes already, so not sure if we'd be able to fill ALL initial order with the first incoming shipment....

Initial shipment of 7-35x56 in MRAD is inbound around hopefully by the end of August, with MOA versions estimated to arrive around end of September 2024.

I have attached some photos I took of the EP5 Gen II 7-35x56 side by side with the new DNT 7-35x56 for the sake of seeing the differences.

DNT is busy working on their website, to add this 7-35x56 scope in the coming week or two, with ALL specs. For now, use the specs on the Arken EP5 Gen II 7-35x56 as a reference - it's just the LOOKS that are mostly a little different, but can be seen here in the attached photos I took.

If you have ANY questions, or want to pre-order one, please email, call or text me on 403-430-1166.

Thanks

Robbie

That knurling kinda reminds me of Nightforce stuff.

Nice to see an affordable optic once again. May have to try one out in an article or something. I like the .2 mil reticle.

Yes, very much like the NF scopes - I thought the same. And the new reticle is a little nicer than the Arken VPR with the .2 Mil hash marks - I agree witn you. They're VERY nice scopes for not a lot of money. Thanks for the comments!!!

Hey folks, quick question on the DNT warranty. my understanding it is a lifetime warranty, but how does it actually work in Canada?
I've heard that people have all kinds of issues with warranty for leupolds in Canada... as they have to send scopes to the US, and then need to deal with some permits to get the scope shipped back to Canada.
Any information on the DNT warranty is appreciated. This can be a deal breaker if this does not work in Canada

Thanks in advance

Hi EugeneM

I have a suspicion you were given the wrong info. I'm not a Leupold dealer, but The Korth Group in Okotoks, AB is the Leupod service centre for Canada, so they handle ALL warranty repairs for Leupold, and will never leave a customer with dealing with permits etc etc. Same goes for most ALL other riflescope brands sold by authorized dealers in Canada - like Leica, Swarovski, Zeiss etc etc. The manufacturers or their Canadian distributors always deal with all permits and paperwork.

Same goes for DNT. Because DNT is distributed by Arken Canada and DNT and Arken Canada imports it directly from China, NONE of the Canadian DNT or Arken products are imported into Canada from the USA. This means ITAR regulations do not affect us with DNT/Arken products in Canada. If there's a warranty claim, you would deal directly with Arken Canada and they will have the scope repaired or replaced, without you having to ship the scope out of Canada, as they are based in Vancouver.

I trust that answers your question.

If not, please call me and we can discuss.

Kind regards

Robbie

Will you be getting the fde ones like Australia?
Hi Jayph

We will NOT be getting FDE coloured scopes. Only black. Where did you see Australia has them in FDE? I cannot find any info or any links. Could you PM me a link or email it to me? I'd love to see what it is?

They might have gotten someone to do it for them, but for now, I have not seen ANY info on DNT 7-35x56 scopes anywhere, other than being mentioned on an Australian forum.

Thanks

Robbie
