Big Northern Alberta Whitetail

Well yesterday i had to work and my hunting partner CGN name loggy was out hunting and got this big whitetail:

He scored it at 185BC before deductions. To top it all off he got the his moose that evening. I have had the pleasure of seeing this deer and its big just thought i would share the pics with you.

I hope he doesn't go broke at the taxidermy shop doing justice to those fine animals. A 185 is a lifetime best (for both the hunter and the deer), and it deserves as good a mount as he can afford.

Great looking deer but why do people haul a dead deer home undressed (not gutted)? Definitely one to hoist a drink to!

I agree Camo...the meat will certainly be tainted. I dress almost immediately so the cooling can take place. if the temperature is warm, I even skin it in the bush.

Many many bow hunters hit an animal and let it bed and pass during the night. The meat will not be tainted

Yes i dont know what the issue on tainting is. Just for a little back ground information the buck was taken with a rifle 15 minutes away from his place and he has a tractor.... so it seems to a no brainer to me... way easier hoisting it up on a tractor and field dressing..

But everyone to their own opinion...

That makes perfect sense when you're that close. With the warm weather we've had for November I gut mine after dropping it. As well, I have to dispose of the bones and hide after cutting and wrapping so getting rid of a gut pile at home (in the city) would be a pain in the as*.
