I have a buddy looking for a large revolver in a common chambering as hes a big man. I led him to the sw 29 in 44mag but was curious if there was something else for him to look at. Hes not interested in a 460 or 500 chambering but a similar sized frame in 357 or last resort 44
Any ideas? Hes 6'10" and 315lbs ish. Has hands to match

Ruger Redhawk is a tough big gun chambered in 44 Mag. It's a stronger design IMHO than the Smith and Wesson Model 29. You can buy after market grips to match larger hands.

edited: oops just noticed he is not interested in 460VX...anyway, this might change his mind lol

yup the S&W counter sniper revolver in 460VX...with 14" barrel

My first question would be is this his first Magnum pistol or revolver. If he has experience I think the 44 mag will bore him after 6 months then he will want to upgrade to a higher caliber.I would recommend the 454 casull

He had a gp100 357 but it was to small for him. The guys hands are ridiculously big. He wants to shoot more but doesnt want the cost of the specialty rounds
In that case I propose a Ruger Super Redhawk .44 with Buffalo Bore loads. Reloading is his best friend! BTW, I have 2 SRHs, a Redhawk, Raging bull and model 29-2....the SRHs will take anything that a rifle will spit out, the Taurus looks Uber cool but not sure of the ultimate frame strength and the S&W?...well, being mint it just sits in the corner of the safe looking pretty and playing coy.
