Just gotta give some respect and appreciation to Gary at Big Horn Sales! I called him up looking for parts for a build I had in mind, nothing fancy, just standard stuff, thinking I would maybe start to see parts sometime late in the year. I wanted a Stiller action, Benchmark barrel, and the rest of the fixings, and guess what!? Gary had almost all of it in stock! It came in over two or three shipments as my budget would allow, but if I remember correctly the only part he had to order was my reamer, and that only took a couple of weeks to get. Gotta love it when some one on this side of the border has the foresight to see that Canadians love their guns and want to build stuff so he has inventory! None of this crap..."well I can order it and it will be here in 3-6 months." This is the second build he has helped me with, and it certainly will not be the last! Thanks Gary!
Here is my parts list, I will follow up with some photos maybe on the weekend as I am away for the rest of the week...
Stiller Tac 30 with 20 MOA rail
Benchmark 6.5mm 8 twist 5C fluted barrel
Benchmark CSR muzzle brake
Timney 510 trigger with safety
Manson 260 Rem reamer and gauges
Stiller DBM and AICS 5 round mag
Barrel will finish around 23-24" depending on the chambering job and the flutes, I haven't decided on a stock yet but probably another Boyd's or I have a local guy here that is working on some stocks so I might see him. The whole idea behind this project was to make a reasonably light weight tactical shooter for the ORA style PR matches and the precision steel matches happening stateside. Will mount up a light weight tactical style scope, probably a Vortex Viper PST or something like that to keep weight down- my Razors are just too heavy for this build.
