big time newbie, interested in an sks

Well I bought one, '49 tula from Canadian tire today. Obviously refurbed as it has about 3 different ser. Numbers and the solid birch stock

what ever you do dont get rid of the original wood stock. a few years from now you will probably change your mind about the plastic stock and want the wood back.
trust me ive been there...

Yeah mine is a hardwood stock numbers matching 1952 Tula , super nice gun for the price , there were 6 or 7 there to pick from , most looked pretty good.

My local CT has the regular SKS refurbs for $199. then they have the timbersmith=stocked ones also, asking price is around $400. The ones in the showcase I seen were BBQ painted, multiple mismatch serials and no arsenal markings on the bolt cover, besides the refurb square.
