The Liberals forced me to buy an AR15 (Smith and Wesson M&P15 II) because of the idiocy of Bill C71. I figure how can I go wrong with $699.99 plus a schwack load of gift cards?

I’m officially in the AR game with only $400 out of my pocket.

Thanks Ralph for helping me make this decision.

You should have got a Colt Canada SAS bro. But great stuff for getting a beater AR. that will do it.

The MPs are damn good ARs for the money. Good on you for telling our worthless leftist #### of a government to #### off. Welcome to the AR-15 club!

I should sue Justin personally for the amount of money he forced me to spend on guns over the last 2 months. And the time it takes to stockpile 300 blackout, shaving foam, Glock parts, 3D printers, download sketchy CIA manuals and .sti files from the Interwebs, then digging the moat and the the electric fence. I don't even have room to bury it all, what with the price of real estate.

I bought a lower. If it's already restricted I'm thinking of building a really short .300 Blackout. like 7.5" or maybe 10. Something scary looking because they all count the same... So why not?

Cool I am doing the same.
Again bought the lower thanks to c71

Make sure you call in and have the registration changed to receiver only so that if they decide to ban and confiscate later you can just give them a stripped lower.

Hahaha that’s it?

Well my 'beater' M&P 15 with a 3 x 9 scope with hand loads shot a 5 shot group of just over 1 inch at 100 yards repeatedly.. I shot a 10 shot group under 2 inches in crappy winter conditions as well.
So that is good enough for me. I wonder how much better a 'real' AR-15 shoots? Are you getting groups much smaller than 1 inch for 5 shot groups at 100 yards?

Don't worry, some guys have simply drank too much of the Colt cool-aid and think everything else is inferior.
I've owned most brands except Colt and they've all been reliable and fairly accurate. The only thing I usually tell people is to stay away from Norinco unless you are satisfied leaving it stock and stay away from NEA/BCL unless you're ok with the higher chance of needing to send it back for warranty.

Just received my first AR lower. Honestly it will probably just sit in the safe for the foreseeable future, but I will build it at some point.

Its about time I got one, and C-71 was the final push I needed.

It's tough letting a stripped receiver sit in the safe...trust me I have first hand experience. It took about 2 months before I started ordering parts! Brownells and True North Arms helped me finish off the Aero upper and lower that I bought from Saskatoon Gun Works.

If anyone in the Edmonton area needs them I have all the tools needed to put together an AR and have built quite a few. I can give you a hand when you're ready.
